Traditional site of Daniel’s tomb in Susa. Daniel was taken from Jerusalem to Babylon around 605 BC. He was in his teens at the time. Daniel served both Babylonian and Persian kings and lived over 100 years. The most widely accepted tradition is that he was buried in Susa, the winter capital of the Persian Empire, the setting for the events of the book of Esther some 50 years later.
